Riftwalker
Mirrorrim

Part of a series on neutral meme archetypes that can be played (with variable amounts of success) in any faction.
Part 20: Intensify.

Concept

Although the keyword is found on both minions and spells, the focus here is on minions, as you get access to two (one in-faction and Riftwalker).

Cards

Intensify

  • Riftwalker
  • In-faction

Recursion

  • Mirrorim
  • In-faction

Mirrorim shuffles copies into your deck, which is bad. Most factions have tools which copy minions into your hand or directly onto the board, which you’ll want to lean on more. Be careful about using Riftwalker with on-board copying, though.

Example Decklists

Lyonar – A Q’orrhlma’a combo deck with Legion and Call to Arms. Decklist here.

Songhai – A budget build I had been experimenting with, built around recurring Opening Gambits with Second Self. Decklist here.

Vetruvian – Synaptic Arbitrage + Superior Mirage gets you a lot of triggers from Dustdrinker. Decklist here (credit Cloudfrog).

Abyssian – Once you get up to your fifth Bonecrusher, Corporal Cadence is an instant lethal. Decklist here.

Magmar – Fractal Replication produces some massive Okkadoks. Alternatively, if you’re lucky enough to find Riftwalker + Mirrorim early on, all of the faction’s draw power can let you chain Riftwalkers to victory. Decklists: Draw version and see above.

Vanar – The in-faction tools are awkward, but the minions kind of fit in a burn/stall shell. Decklist here.

Bonus

The Intensify spells have very different effects, so there’s no real cohesive archetype built around them cross-faction. Some of them you can legitimately build decks around with lots of spell recursion to Intensify as much as possible, while in other cases it doesn’t make sense to do so, since the effect is (effectively) capped. However, after some searching, I’ve found one deck from each faction that runs the faction Intensify spell.

Lyonar – Bolster Swarm

Songhai – Knucklestorm Combo

Vetruvian – Aggro Sajj

Abyssian – Alcuin Creep

Magmar – Antiaggro Vaath (credit Kosvid)

Vanar – My Side Faie
