Concept
The best way to construct a Grow deck is inarguably with Ragnora, since it doesn’t take much growing to make Rippers into lethal threats. However, that sort of deck is more packed with Grow effects rather than actual Grow minions. This is a different “tribal” build, based around the best midrange Grow minions.
Cards
Grow
- Godhammer
- Gro
- Moloki Huntress
- Oropsisaur
- Omniseer
- Kolossus
The strongest of the cheaper Grow cards. Even with the Battle Pet drawback, Gro is a lot of stats for 2 mana. The two 3-drop “lords” are your most important cards, since they net you extra Grow triggers. Godhammer and Omniseer let you stack Grow on your other minions, while Kolossus is just really big if it can Grow even once.
Acceleration
- Flash Reincarnation
- Kujata
Mana acceleration to get your big things out earlier.
Removal
- Bloodtear Alchemist
- Blistering Skorn
Pings to deal with out-of-the-way things. Skorn also gives you Grow triggers if you have Oropsisaur on the board.
- Lavaslasher
- Makantor Warbeast
Magmar’s staple minion-based removal.
Combo
- Decimus
- Tectonic Spikes
The tried and true Starhorn combo. Decimus is also much harder to remove if he can Grow even just once, since 5 health is an important breakpoint.
Gameplay
The gameplan for this deck is very straightforward: play your 3-mana minions safely so that they can accumulate value, and play your other minions upfront so that you can smack down your opponent with huge, grown-up beatsticks. Your minions are vulnerable to hard removal and dispel, but often getting in just a couple of big hits is enough since you have access to Decispikes as a burst finisher.
